Magical morning rays of light. Magiska morgonstrålar. ( Fyledalen, Sweden)
Posted on April 17, 2018
15 000 years ago in connection with the end of the ice age this valley was created. The valley has great biological and geological value. Beech forest that has been allowed to grow wild and old. Frogs and reptiles flourish. Common and rare birds of prey thrives in the surroundings. All species of bats that are known in Sweden have been found here and red deer likes the area. The area is often called northern Europes best place for winter bird watching for eagles.

if you want to catch some magical morning rays of light then you have to get out of bed early. Sunrise in these parts of the world happens around 5.52 ! Rise and shine.
Om Du vill fånga det magiska morgonljuset så måste du ta dig ur sängen och vara på plats runt soluppgång som är runt 5.52 i våra trakter just nu. Upp och hoppa !

Amber along our coast
Posted on April 9, 2018
We’ve had a couple of storms lately and I must say that while it was howling outside I didn’t have one positive thing to say about it. Now it’s totally another story. I must say that I’m quite pleased that we had some storms. All due to the fact that I’ve been finding pieces of amber every other day for the last two weeks. It’s such a joy to go on a treasure hunt along the shore!

Amber is fossilized tree resin and ows it’s existence to the defence mechanisms of certain kinds of tree. When the bark is punctured or infected, a sticky resin oozes out to seal the damage and sterilise the area. Some species of trees produce such copious quantities of resin that small creatures, as well as leaves and flowers from the trees themselves, get trapped.

It would be nice to make some jewelry out of the pieces, don’t you think?

Busy as a ….greenfinch.
Posted on April 8, 2018
Spring is here and the birds are busy flying back and forth with material for their nests. The greenfinch are building their nests in our green “wall” behind our green house. I guess the green suites the greenfinch. But why is it called a greenfinch? The male is all yellow.

Last day of my photo exhibition.
Posted on April 7, 2018
Today is the last day of my exhibition, A Journey into the Soul of India. I’m both happy and sad. Happy that quite a few have come to look and also happy that I had the courage to do this here at home. Sad that it’s all over.
I’m pleased that I have raised some money for one of the poor groups in India, the brick makers, especially the children.

It feels good to give back to some of the people that have taken their time to talk to me and let me take pictures.
Now I need to sit down and evaluate and see what I could have done differently so that I know until next time if I should decide to do this again.
Dear readers, thanks for your support !
Spring has sprung today….finally
Posted on April 6, 2018
It’s been a strange long cold winter for us here on the south coast. Stormy days with snow coming down sideways. Just a week ago we had the last snow storm. So when I found a butterfly in my greenhouse today it sure felt like spring.
