breathtakingly beautiful

love the colors

our piece of paradise early early in the morning

right before the sun shows itself the sky turns all golden, like magic

a golden morning swim

turned my head before heading home and saw that they just missed the moon, hope they hadn’t planned to stop, hihi.
I had a furry visitor in my garden.

one morning I had a furry visitor in my garden…..

at first I thought it was one of my neighbors dogs

but as soon as it turned I realized it was a fox

it was moving around the garden like it owned it so I guess it has been here many times before

it was so pretty and it didn’t notice me behind the glass door

I got a 15 minute view of my furry friend and then I had to let myself be known since I don’t want it here at all (We’ve got a couple of cats in the family) But it sure was nice to see a healthy Swedish fox up close.
I’ve landed safely…..

Morning walks along the shore.

Crispy blue skies.

I’m back home in our part of the world, Abbekås, Sweden. I think I need some days to settle in our old new home. If you don’t know – Sweden , Skåne, Abbekås is so beautiful and I’m happy that I can call this home.
Morning safari
Posted on May 14, 2017
My early morning visit to my drivers temple turned into a safari trip. Monkeys, huge mungo, big parrots, peacocks, goats, buffaloes, horses, mules, camels, birds of all kinds, nilgais, cows, snakes, toads and I’m pretty sure I have missed something but still you get the picture….amazing morning and it was only me and Pawan and the guys living at the temple. Seemed like the Gods knew this was my last visit so they really wanted to show me all the beautiful living creatures out here.
I think we saw more than 150 peacocks and peahens but first time I saw so many dancing at one time.

it’s really a jungle temple

magnificent banyan tree with all its hanging aerial roots

summer here means that trees drop their leaves

parrot nests

a nilgai family

I know not sharp but I just had to show the beautiful colours they have..

goats eat everything….

all of a sudden we spotted two snakes but they where to fast for me..but what a morning it was. The Gods did everything they could to give me a nice last visit and for that I’m truly grateful.

Hugged by a langur….
Posted on May 7, 2017
Early this morning we paid a visit to one of our favourite places around here, the temple with all the langurs and today I asked my hubby to get some pictures of me with the langurs.

they are so gentle but you can feel their strength when they want something.it’s amazing feeling their fingers holding yours and looking into their eyes …..

I had handprints all over, front and back.

all of a sudden I got the biggest hug ever ….and he hang on for quite a while…

they are so fast and so cheeky ….

this old lady (the monkey to the left !) waited and waited and finally she got some banana.
Best morning ever !
Brick by brick, earning 10 rupees=0.16 us $=1.37 Swe krona for 100 bricks !!!!

today I visited the brick makers again and brought some snacks for the kids but also some clothes for the youngest ones. I met the same family as I have done a couple of times before and they looked happy to see me again. I did meet a new girl in the family though..15 years old and they told me “not married yet”.
These poor people working long hours in the scorching heat every day. Today it was only 42 degrees Celsius and I was baking in the sun just getting my pictures. They earn 10 rupees for every 100 bricks they make. The family moved here from Uttar Pradesh to work. Since this is an area where buildings are popping up everywhere and anywhere I guess the brick business is big bucks for the owners.

the smoke from these ovens are really unhealthy…

it truly is hard work and I wish that everyone once in a while would think about how working conditions are for some people in this country…..

15 years old and she told me she has only gone to school for a very short while

brick by brick

this was the girl I have met before and I asked her what she wished for and at that time she wanted to turn 18 to get fully paid….today I didn’t ask because she’s still not 18. She did look thinner than last time though and I wanted to know how she was but she just said fine. Just look at those eyes ! amazing…if you zoom in you’ll see me in her dark eyes.
I think this is one of my favourite pictures ever.

I’m happy that I have taken the time to visit some of these places while living here. My heart is always heavy when I leave but I think that’s good. I think that we who live a privileged life need to see to understand. We need to feel it into the bones to understand how fortunate we are.
Himalayan kids , outside of Leh Ladakh, Jammu Kashmir, India.

in a village outside of Leh ( actually closer to Pangong Tso Lake ) I saw these kids playing and I just had to get out and get some pictures…to my surprise the big boy spoke excellent english !

the girl was really shy…

he wanted to show me that he could ride his calf ! (see the solar panels by the way)

here he goes…..

I’ve never seen someone riding a cow actually and he was just the most charming little boy ever. (of course the tiny little village had their own praying wheel)
