The Hot Sulphur Spring in Sohna
Posted on January 29, 2017
and it’s famous Shiv Kund, and an ancient Shiva Temple.
The last couple of days when I haven’t had any internet I started going through my pictures. I found some “old” ones that I haven’t shown you before….

the hot water from the earth is collected in a tank, kund, it’s around 55 feet deep, and it’s covered with a tomb….you can see one of the tubs(right) where people wash both themselves and their clothes.

I could feel the heat from the hot water through this opening…steam was coming out…it’s a natural hot spring with sulphur mixed water and it’s said that the water is curing skin diseases…so people from all over the state come to this place to get cured.

special entrances for ladies who wish to spend time in the hot water…and No, I didn’t try it out. see the small plant breaking through the concrete ?

bells are part of a temple

people live right in the middle of the kund and the temple.

best part of the visit was the walk through the village.

narrow alleys….so narrow that I do wonder how the cars got in there ?

wonderful havelis and fun solutions….

in this one I didn’t see any car though…not even a bike actually.
Picking vegetables and flowers in the middle of winter
Posted on January 21, 2017
that’s what we do here in India..fall – winter means better temperatures so things can grow

I did pick some dahlias but the young lady picked some brinjal (eggplant ) and dhania (coriander) for me..

this is the family I have visited so many times before to get my flowers ( and I always get vegetables also)..I usually have some things with me to give and yesterday I had some clothes from back home ( the older boy really needed some clothes so I brought some of my sons grown out ones)

I forgot the chocolate for this little one…promised to bring some next time !
From one side of the world to another

I left this….

and got this instead….a 30 degree difference and some smog …..

and yet the schools here in India closed today because it’s to cold.( well, grades up to 5 had to stay home, the older ones had to come to school) If that would be the case home in Sweden then we would only have school half of the year maximum.

After “the” storm
Posted on January 12, 2017
you never know what to expect the day after a storm, but today turned into quite a nice day
Mother Earth even treated us to some sunshine and less wind

on this side of the pier there was snow and ice

and on the other side there was none…

more sand than usual though…

guess the storm buried it ….

the road was gone …red algae had been thrown up and was totally covering it and the beautiful willow…hmm, this will start to smell in a day or so…
Mother Earth was a lot happier and so was I.
Semla, fastlagsbulle or Swedish cream buns…..
Posted on January 11, 2017
what do you do when it’s storming outside…
if you’re from Sweden ….FIKA time= something sweet and coffee
a fastlagsbulle, semla is a cardamom-scented bun filled with almond-paste and whipped cream ( and some snow…icing sugar on top ) yummy yummy….if we get snowed in I’ll make a batch of these heavenly yummy buns.
Snow and storm !!!!

hold on to your hat today !

I didn’t want to go outside…walked upstairs and looked out the window instead…quite beautiful when you can choose to stay inside in the warmth…Mother Earth seemed angry today…

not easy to see out today…

I sure hope it calms down soon…wonder what I can do to calm her,
Mother Earth that is.

I know it’s only Tuesday but it sounded better with Wednesday..haha

mother nature, a force to be reckoned with….
often beautiful but can be oh, so dangerous.
Sometimes you don’t see the forest for the trees.
