Indian Sadhu’s and Swedish students
Posted on February 27, 2017
I just had to show the Swedish students my favourite temple, the colourful one with my friend since four years back, one of the Sadhu’s….

here’s my friend.I can’t believe I’ve met him for four years at different temples ! he was happy and honoured that they wanted to visit the temple…

he arranged for the students to get flowers and he also blessed us after walking through the tigers mouth and gave us all a third eye, the sixth chakra, the channel through which humankind opens spiritually to the Divine.

as always it was a really nice visit..happy to show the students parts of my life in India.
Dubai Souq 4 fish
Posted on February 19, 2017
the fishermen comes in with all this wonderful fish and sea food every day…well, not Fridays of course..we just had to explore the area to see what was going on….
repairing the nets and taking care of them is a must since it’s their livelihood.

a fisherman….most of them are from Bangladesh….
so many nice boats, small and big, fishing boats and yachts, new and old…..

fresh fish and seafood…yummy yummy. We got some giant shrimps and cuttlefish for dinner. Kathy cooked the shrimps with garlic and other herbs. I cooked the cuttlefish with olive oil, lemon and garlic. Loved it.
Dubai with it’s magnificent buildings
Posted on February 16, 2017
it’s amazing what the architects can create…

Burj Khalifa is still the worlds tallest building, 829 meters !..to the left reflected in a Opera House window. To get the right one I actually had to lay down on the ground to capture all of the Burj.
I thought of Darth Vader and Princess Leia when I saw these statues
Mall of Dubai center with the new Opera House
such cool reflections
driving on to Palm Island…the hotel Atlantis is just one of many
pretty cool view…see the ski slope ? it’s in one of the malls
the marina area

I think this was my favourite construction .
Dubai Camel Racing club Al Marmoom track
Posted on February 13, 2017
early Friday morning we drove off into the sunrise and headed for some camel racing !!
this was my first time at a camel race track…so much fun ! just look at this traffic sign

preparing the camel for the race by putting on the jockey, a robot with a whip that can be controlled remotely…humans are not allowed to be jockeys anymore…it’s just too dangerous

love their blankets…it was quite chilly this morning so they had to keep them warm

mouth nuzzles…camels are pretty feisty animals

I had to see how much a jockey weighs…about 5 kg’s

camels being prepped for the race and some at the first station

next stop before

is it our turn soon?

being hooked up to the starting line…

lots of sand in the desert…

ready set

go !!!!!

” I don’t want to ….”

“hey, wait for me, I changed my mind”

5 km’s later…..and the winner is…green and white

see the camel to the left ? he/she has all four feet in the air !!

at the finish line all the trainers wait and when they see their camel they have to try and catch it…

and they come in pretty fast…shoes fly and trainers sprint

red team having some rest after racing

I found a camel that suited my pace…
Falcons in Dubai desert
Posted on February 11, 2017
we where so lucky while out in the desert… on our way out of the dunes this guy comes driving by with a falcon in his hand….what are the odds ?

such beautiful birds…

look at those claws

he had another one sitting in the front seat…one female and one male…do you know which is which ?

desert, dunes, sunset and top it of with some falcons with it’s trainer…lucky us !

my friend Kathy in action getting some fabulous pictures.. so the falcons are trained for hunting…each one worth a great deal of money…

look at those feathers….wow ! such beautiful pattern

you could tell how happy he was for these birds…and we where happy that we got the chance to meet them up close.
oh, guess I have to let you know that the big one is the female, small one male.
ps.did anyone of you read the article about the Sheik who booked a whole plane for his 80 falcons ?

truly amazing and so wonderful to get to do this with a great friend….

we had Sky high’s and Eyes looking at heaven…yummy yummy ones !

my Sky High…hmmm…

sunset from up here was just so nice….overlooking Jumeriah Palm Island….

all pictures are taken through the THICK glass …you just don’t walk out on a balcony this high up… there’s some reflections here and there, I know..

the Burj lit up at night…see the ocean and the water rolling up on the beach reflecting on the Burj like a huge movie screen?
Thank you dearest Kathy for showing me your favourite spots in this wonderful city of yours…Dubai.

Deira Old Souk station where we walked along the dock to look at the old boats being filled with everything you could think of …
